Biographies.

Regional availability.
Characters can hail from anywhere on the main continent, from randland proper clear to Shara. However we ask that you research the area that you plan to be from to ensure a reasonable 'realism' in your RP (such as your an Aiel but your swinging a sword, won't cut it) Your character may also be wolf kin, normal human or an Ogier (again, do a bit of research) There are no PC's (player characters) allowed in Chaos unless specifically placed there by an Admin for a specific purpose. If you have questions about availability please do not hesitate to post on the new member help forum and someone will answer you as soon as humanly possible.

Points to Ponder:
We cannot stress enough that you have a wide range of ways you can begin your rp'ing. You can begin your RP in a variety of ways. You may start solo to get the feel of your character, you can join up with some friends in an area, or you can seek out a group (see groups section for details). You are not limited to being out and about in the wild. Your character can be a wanderer, selling their services in the occupied towns, you can start off as a slave, an aspiring merchant, run an underground railroad in defiance of the system Chaos has in place to help people escape the cities. There are many different things you can do and the best part is, you don't have to stay with it. People can join groups, leave them to strike out on their own, turn traitor and ask to serve the legions of Chaos, it's nearly sky's the limit. With this in mind be sure to create your character accordingly in your biography to get you started.

We the Admin reserve the right to approve or disapprove of a biography in part or as a whole. While we will do our best to explain why, we kindly ask that you do not push the subject as we have reasons for it that may or may not be disclosed at the time. Please however do not let this deter you from being creative or asking ahead of time if something you wish to do or have is within reason on the New Member Help forum.

Starting skill points:
As a new member or a new character you are given 10 skill points to apply to your choice of tiers. These can be placed all within 1 area (up to a maximum level of tier 4) or distributed to other things. These are given to help get you started but by no means are what you are limited to. Please see Tiers descriptions for more information.

Also, please remember that the staff here at Broken World have lives that do supercede the site even if we wish it wouldn't so it make take longer then you would like to get an answer at times.

Biography Format:
We ask that you use this general outline (copy and paste if you wish) to help flesh out your character & biography. You do not have to fill out every field, however the more you have to begin with the easier it will be for someone to connect with your character.

Other things to think on:

Is your character from Malkier?
Malkier is a dead country and has been for over twenty years. Anyone from Malkier will automatically be disapproved for RP.

Is your character half-Aiel?
This is also a strict no-no. Aiel didn't go around sowing wild oats across Randland so the chances of you having an Aiel parent and a normal parent are very slim.  The chances of you having both the Aiel and Wetlander traits are zero to none.

Does your character have any *'angreal?
Power wrought objects of any kind need approval. This includes weapons. Ask an admin about the possibility of such an object before putting it in your bio.

Have you said you are a blade master or strong with the One Power?
Strength in One Power  and Weapon Scores are determined by your skill points and how you applied them.  Keep this in mind.

Is your character a mixture of anything? eg Channeler/Wolf kin?
Channelers can have no other abilities, the same goes with wolf kin. Talents of any kind, apart from Wolf kin or Channeling are dependant upon Admin approval.

Have you given your channeler a Talent?
Talents are handed out by the Admins and must be approved.

Does your character have non-human features?
The only division that allows non-humans in any form is Chaos. There are no Chaos PC's at this point in time unless specifically discussed with by the Admin for a specific purpose.

Does your character fall outside normal parameters for channelers or normal humans?
No one is 3000 years old or naturally immune to any Chaotic creatures special abilities (like Dark hound saliva or Fade stares etc). You character cannot have super-speed/strength. Your character can only have warder-like endurance if they are a warder (already bonded).

Does your character own any modern equipment?
Guns are the major cause for strife here. This RP is set in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time setting and guns are not a part of it. Anything that is not in the Wheel of Time is not acceptable here.

Does your bio contain any names from the books?
This is a copyright infringement and cannot be allowed. 'The Dragon' or 'The Dragon Reborn' are acceptable.

Did you perform a super-human feat in your bio?
No one can fight off ten trollocs and two fades single handedly. It's just not realistic. You cannot break Aes Sedai out of the Black Tower and not be caught and executed. etc etc.

Were you born with any special abilities?
Channelers do not manifest their ability until late puberty. 13 at the earliest for females and 15 at the earliest for males. Wolf kin do not show signs of being wolf kin until late teens early twenties, sometimes older.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, please go back and edit your bio, as it will save you and staff a lot of time and hassle. The sooner you're RPing, the better, right?

Once your Bio is approved, you may then begin to RP. Please keep refer to the "How to RP" post if you have questions about how to get started.

Has your bio disappeared? Check the Approved Bios Board, located in the Archives section of the forums. If it is there, that means you have been approved by all fronts and can RP! If you do not see your bio there, contact your an Admin ASAP.
