F.A.Q.

Q: Why change the site?
A: Unfortunately we had come to the point in the storyline where it began to
stagnate. Combine this along with the many layers of work placed on the staff
the Admins felt a change was due to simplify things for all involved and give
more opportunities in both leadership and role-play to everyone at the site.
Q: How will my characters be affected?
A: All pre-change characters at Broken World will need to be redone to fit the
current site timeline and settings.
Q: Can I keep my old characters and carry them over?
A: Old character concepts can be fit into the new system as long as the rules
and such are followed. However their present history and accumulation will be
discarded in order to fit with the new timeline.
Q: Will we still be able to play as channelers?
A: Of course, the new system allows for very versatile character creation as
well as more freedom as to where you will play. The bio creation post has all
the necessary information about what you can do and anyone is more then welcome
to ask if something they have in mind is doable in the rp.
Q: What's happened to the Aiel?
A: As the prophecy in the books suggested, only a remnant of a remnant remains.
The Aiel were the worst hit out of any region, largely due to their beliefs and
whatnot. There are still Aiel, but at this point in time in the story those that
remain are scattered across the waste as well as in the West, trying to survive
like everyone else around them.
Q: Are the wolfkin still around?
A: Of course. As are Ogier, Steddings and white fluffy clouds!
Q. How will the OP scoring system and weapons score be affected by the
changes?
A: The OP scores and Weapon systems have been completely revamped into Tiers, to
get a full explanation of these things visit the New Member Help forum and look
up each one under it's title there.
Q. What's happened to the nations?
A: Every Nation with the exception of Shara participated in the last battle.
Thus, when the Dark One won, the nations were naturally placed under his rule,
or more appropriately the rule of the remaining Chosen. There are a total of 3
Chosen left in this new age, each governing how they see fit in the West, East
and Shara itself. Some of the major cities still stand, though they are in bad
repair due to the war and still contain citizens who are trying to cope with the
new regime.
Q. What's new in the sites history?
A: The most obvious change is the new power that grips the land, the fact that
the forces of 'good' have lost and an evil has taken it's place.
Q. Who are the admins?
A: The Admins consist of Darna, Aureille, Jalestra and Darksbane, each who will
work together to oversee and nurture this new storyline.
Q. What kind of RP opportunities can I expect?
A: There are countless opportunities for different types of role-play in
different settings. In Broken World now you are not limited to joining the white
tower or the black tower if you discover the ability to channel. You can set up
shop in any region as long as you remember that Chaos is ever present and
watchful. We've taken steps to help ensure a more realistic setting as well. If
you have your character go off and moon a trolloc, something is going to happen.
We plan to take each biography and rp request on it's own, so people can have a
wider range of things to do instead of a cookie cutter character, setting and
RP.
Q. What rules are there when creating a new bio?
A: Most of the old rules apply, with a few new twists that will allow for better
customization. All this can be found on the new member help board as well as the
biography board 'how to write a biography'.
Q.Is there still going to be both a OOC and IC divisions?
A: Brokenworld begins as an OOC, you are here because you enjoy the Wheel of
Time series. Role-play is a perk of the site and what most come to do. As for
divisions, they no longer exist, both IC and OOCly. Instead there are groups
made by individuals in the RP sense while the OOC sense remains as an overall
community.
Q.Will the site design change? Color, etc
A: No, there is no plan for the site design to change. As it stands, the site is
easy to look at, use and work with and I have no desire to change any of it. We
may in the future implement extra things to go along with promotion and events,
but overall it wont' change.
Q.What will happen to the divisions? Neutrals, chaos, Black tower..
A: Divisions as you know them will disband. Taking their place will be
individual groups with their own goals, mixture of people and talents. This will
cut down the former workload on the individual and place it firmly in the hands
of those who want to progress.
